What's Happening?

There are loads of activities and events for young people in and around the borough of Bromley. Below is a list of events and activities coming up or happening soon.

• Free events and free tickets at the Churchill Theatre

• Free professional Theatre training for Bromley residents aged 16-18!

From Thursday 2 April Greenwich Theatre will be running training programmes for 16-18 year olds who are currently not in education or employment. Travel allowances and bonuses for regular attendance are paid. Contact Susan Winter on 07723 653582 or email s.winter@greenwichtheatre.org.uk for further information. 

• CrayZkidz

Every Sunday morning at the Duke Youth Centre at 11am with Sunday Kidz group for under 14s... coffee and biscuits are always available from 10.30 and again after the meeting. For more information contact 07786 227 170.

• Mini Track Stars - 8th April to 21st October 2009 @ Norman Park

Fun events for 6-10 year olds on Wednesdays 4:15pm – 5:30pm at Norman Park Track, Hayes Lane Bromley. £4.00 per session provided by qualified coaches.

• The London Youth Games - June and July

The Youth Games is competed annually by over 23,000 young people from all of London's boroughs. The finals in July are held at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, with preliminary events being held in June. In 2008 Bromley were crowned champions. • Biggin Hill Airfair - 27th and 28th June 2009 

2 days of spectacular flying, ground displays and funfairs at the historic biggin hill airport. This year featuring the Red Arrows, Typhoon, Spitfire, Harrier, Vulcan and many more. For tickets and further information please visit the Airshow site here.

• Summer Uni - Enrolment starts from the 13th of July.

Sign up now - hundreds of free courses for young people 
                        in Bromley this summer


Bromley has teamed up with the Summer Uni London, to put on hundreds of free course places for young people over the summer.

The courses cover a variety subjects, including music, DJing, StreetDance, Construction, DIY, Horse-riding & First Aid, with places available for young people with special needs.

The courses range from a few hours to a whole week and are being held at venues across the borough, so there is bound to be something happening near where you live.

The sessions are available for all young people between the ages of 8 and 25 and are a great way to meet people, learn new skills and have fun.

Summer Uni London has been running free summer courses for young people in London since 1995. Their courses are very popular, with 96% of people that have been on a course, happy to recommend them to a friend and 80% giving their courses a score of 8 out of 10 or higher.

But you had better hurry - Summer Uni London courses always get booked up very quickly. Enrolment starts from the 13th of July.

• CrayZkidz end of term party - Sunday 19th July

At the Duke Youth Centre, free snacks and drinks, prize giving for the term of CrayZkidz, games for the kids. 

• The War and Peace Show @ The Hop Farm Country Park, Kent, 22nd July - 26 July 2009

Over 10,000 enthusiasts and 3,000 vehicles gather at The Hop Farm for the largest Military Vehicle Action spectacular in the world. Tank action, battle re-enactments and much more. Please visit the War and Peace Site for further information.

• e2e – Entry to employment @ Castlecombe Youth Centre, Mottingham

Are you 16-18 years old? Not in education, employment or training? Gain work experience and skills for work over a minimum of 16 weeks. You may be eligible for weekly Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) payments and support with travel costs will be provided.

• Base Line Youth Group @ BCC, 2 Masons Hill, Bromley 

Join other young people (Year 7 - Year 12) every Friday during term time between 6pm - 9pm for loads of different activities including 5-a-side football, basketball, gaming, table tennis, live music and loads more. Entrance is £2, have a look at the Baseline site for further information.

• Camp Beaumont - Easter and Summer Day Camps

Day camps for 3-16 year olds in various locations in and around the borough. Over 40 exciting, sporting, creative and adventurous activities available. Follow this link for more information: Camp Beaumont

• W.I.L.D. Ideas Youth Project @ Anerley Library

Sessions for teenagers looking for things to do, fun and education. Takes place on Fridays from 3rd April 09 between 4pm - 6pm.

• Teenage Reading Group

If you are between 11-15 years old and interested in books, get together with other young people at these groups in libraries across the borough. Please follow this link for more information: TRG
